Deathmatch is the headline gamemode of Open Fortress, pitting Mercenaries against one another in a free-for-all bloodbath -- whoever gets the most kills wins!
Gameplay

At the start of every Deathmatch game, you spawn in a random position on the map. You are equipped with the Pistol and the Crowbar every respawn, only gaining new weapons from grabbing them throughout the map. Each player is on their own team in the most basic sense, only being able to get points by killing other players in any means possible. On specific Deathmatch maps, there will be a Super Weapon that any player can grab. This weapons will do serious damage to anyone caught in the crossfire, only being held back by not being able to refill it's ammo. The only way to win in Deathmatch is to have the most amount of kills by the end of the round.
Open Fortress offers a specific kind of Deathmatch that eases players into its gameplay while also allowing skillful players to use their surroundings to the fullest. It is currently the most finished gamemode with mainly balance changes, additional maps, UI changes, and quality of life improvements needing to be finished.
Team Deathmatch
Additionally, there is also Team Deathmatch where opposing teams of mercenaries must rack in and gather a specific tally of kills before the other team to win!
